Flight Sergeant Arnold R.Bean of Leek Road, Smallthorne, is buried in St Bartholomew’s churchyard, Norton-in-the-Moors; he’s also named on St Bartholomew’s war memorial tablet and there’s also a tablet dedicated to him.
